Cornea Evaluations

What is the cornea?

 

The cornea is the highly sensitive clear dome in the front of our eye that helps focus light onto the retina.  Having a healthy cornea is imperative to maintaining good vision and limiting ocular pain.  Symptoms of cornea issues include:

 

-pain

-blurred vision

-sensitivity to light

-redness

-foreign body sensation

-tearing

 

Common cornea conditions include:

​

-Dry eye syndrome

-Corneal abrasion

-Corneal ulcer (infection)

-Foreign body removal

-Anterior basement membrane dystrophy

-Keratoconus

-Fuchs Dystrophy

 

When should I be evaluated?

 

If you have any concerns with your vision or if you are in discomfort you should have your eyes examined.
