Nathaniel Simmons, MD
My Story
Nathaniel Simmons, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist and refractive cataract surgeon. After graduating from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Biology, he worked in a HIV vaccine development laboratory at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. During this time, he completed a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Science at Tufts University School of Medicine. Then, Dr. Simmons obtained his medical degree while graduating top of his class from Tufts University School of Medicine with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. As a medical student he was awarded the Massachusetts Medical Scholar scholarship and multiple awards for citizenship.
Dr. Simmons completed his internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Throughout his training, Dr. Simmons published papers on various topics in ophthalmology and presented his work at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Simmons is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Medical Society of New York State.

Outside of clinic he enjoys spending time with family, roasting coffee, cooking, and playing guitar.
